Artist statement

Computers are gaining capability at an incredible pace. In the last ten years, we have gone from computers barely being able to tell images of dogs apart from images of cats, to computers generating incredible works of art from a simple text prompt.

Is writing these prompts the essence of creativity or is there more to it? In another ten years will we still value art? What does copyright and intellectual property mean in a world where you can just ask your computer for a copy of that movie or game instead of buying it? Will we retreat from the internet as it becomes harder and harder to tell what is real?

I made this computer generated podcast to start a conversation about these questions and to improve my own skills in the field of machine learning, as I believe those will be the last marketable skills taken away from me.
